Gap and Crap (Failed Gap Up)

Entry Logic

  • Exact Entry Trigger: A stock gaps up, but immediately sells off and breaks below the pre-market low. Enter short 1 cent below the pre-market low.
  • Confirmation Requirements: The breakdown should be on high volume. The stock should show relative weakness.
  • Timeframe Required: 5-minute chart.
  • Location Context: The entry occurs after a failed gap up.
  • Market Condition Requirement: A market that is showing signs of weakness.

Exit Logic

  • Profit Target(s): Target the low of the day, then the full gap fill.
