Netlist filed an ITC complaint on August 12 against Micron, alleging its DDR5 RDIMM and MRDIMM memory chips infringe four of Netlist's patents...

...that fight escalated today, landing on top of a broad semiconductor selloff that dropped the Philadelphia Semiconductor Index roughly 3.7 percent...

...together they sent $MU down about 7 percent on the session, per TipRanks and StocksToTrade.

Daily — NASDAQ:MU

Micron MU daily candlestick chart, August 18 2026, TradingView
  • $700 in early June to $1,250 by late June, one clean five month run up, no argument there.
  • One outsized red daily candle in early August erased most of that run in a single session, heaviest volume bar on the chart.
  • Bounced off that low and climbed back near $1,050 by August 14.
  • Today's red candle closes near $938, down about 7 percent, back to the middle of the five month range.

1 Hour — NASDAQ:MU

Micron MU 1 hour candlestick chart, August 18 2026, TradingView
  • Climbed from $900 on August 13 to $1,050 by the morning of August 17, a steady five session grind.
  • One large red hour opened today's session and did most of the day's damage in the first hour.
  • Volume spiked on that opening drop, then tapered as price found a shelf near $935 to $940.
  • Last few hourly candles sit flat on that shelf, small bodies, no fresh push lower yet.
Right Now

Micron spent two weeks climbing back toward $1,050 off its July low...

...a fresh patent fight, landed on top of a broad chip selloff, erased that climb in one session.

The chart now sits on the same $935 to $940 shelf that's held twice before, and that shelf is the only thing left standing between here and the July low.
