How much margin and exposure am I actually carrying across every forex position open right now?

How this is calculated

• Each position's notional value is worked out the same way the single-position margin calculator on this site does: when USD is the quote currency, notional value equals units multiplied by the exchange rate; when USD is the base currency, notional value equals the units directly, since the position is already denominated in USD.
• Each position's required margin is that position's own notional value divided by the leverage ratio entered once at the top. Total margin is the sum of every position's own margin, not a single calculation run on a combined number, since margin is set per position at the moment it opens.
• Effective account-wide leverage is total notional exposure divided by account balance. This is a different number from the leverage ratio your broker quotes: your broker's leverage sets how much margin a single position needs, while effective leverage tells you how large your combined exposure actually is relative to your own account, which several small positions can push higher than any one position alone suggests.
• A position left blank (no units entered) is skipped entirely and does not count toward any total. Only position 1 needs to be filled in, positions 2 through 4 are there for whichever additional pairs you actually have open right now.
• Cross pairs where neither currency is USD, such as EUR/GBP or EUR/JPY, need an extra conversion step this calculator doesn't do, the same limitation as the single-position margin calculator.
