Take the current overnight price minus yesterday's settlement price, multiply by the point value per contract and the number of contracts, and sign it for a long or short position. That is the unrealized dollar impact of the overnight move.

Does this check for a margin call?

No. It only sizes the price move itself in points, dollars, and percent of account. Checking a margin call requires your actual maintenance margin and cash balance, which this tool does not ask for.

How this is calculated

Price change is the current overnight price minus yesterday's settlement. A long position gains when price rises and loses when it falls; a short position is the mirror.
Dollar impact is the price change in points, times the point value per contract, times the number of contracts held. This is unrealized, not a closed loss or gain, since the day session can move price back before you'd act on it.
Percent of account, shown when you enter a balance, is the dollar impact divided by that balance. This is the number that answers "how much of my account moved while I was asleep or away from the screen," separate from whether the position is still open by choice or because a stop hasn't been hit yet.
This does not check your margin balance or whether a move this size would trigger a margin call; it only sizes the price move itself in points, dollars, and percent of account.
